Johnson & Hayes Heat Pump Pricing FAQs

  • What factors impact the cost to install a heat pump?

Factors that affect how much your heat pump installation costs include

    • the size of your home or business (larger spaces can require more than one exterior compressor unit or more powerful heat pumps)
    • whether we install a ducted or ductless system
    • whether we are installing your ductless heat pump system in a new construction or not
    • the type of unit you choose
    • if you choose any add-ons or upgraded features
    • the number of indoor split units you require

During your free on-site consultation, your heat pump installation expert can provide you with all the options, including their costs, and make recommendations that provide you with the most value for your investment.

  • Is a ducted system cheaper than a ductless heat pump?

Generally, installing a ducted system costs less than a ducted one if you already have a traditional HVAC system. If you have existing ductwork, installing a ducted heat pump is as simple as switching out your oil-reliant furnace with a high-efficiency electric or hybrid heat pump.

For new construction, the cost to install a ductless is the same. If installing an HVAC system in a new construction, we recommend installing a ductless heat pump system so you get all the efficiency advantages and customized control they offer.

  • Do you offer any warranties?

Johnson & Hayes Heat Pumps offers a standard 1-year warranty on labor above the warranties your manufacturer provides. We can increase our labor warranty to 12 years for an additional fee. Talk to us to learn more.

  • How do the government rebates work?

Home improvement projects like heat pump installations are eligible for a 20% rebate as part of the federal Inflation Reduction Act.

Efficiency Maine provides rebates to homeowners and businesses for heat pump installations based on income, covering up to $8000 of the cost.

There are also local government incentives available.

Once you have your heat pump installed, you provide proof of payment along with proof that your installation was completed by a licensed HVAC contractor via their online portals. Once approved, you will receive your heat pump installation rebates.

While the rebates don't help you pay for your HVAC upgrade, they put money back in your pocket.

TIP: If you finance your heat pump installation, you can use the rebate to pay off your loan faster and save on interest.

  • Do you offer financing?

We offer flexible, low-interest, low-payment financing options through our partnership with the NEIF and Synchrony.

You don't need to put up your home or other assets as collateral or a second mortgage to make your home greener and more energy efficient with Johnson & Hayes Heat Pumps.
